Anatole spent his 20s roaming, computer in hand, around the world, living in Europe and South America for several years and teaching and learning computer and human languages before arriving in Japan where he has lived for the past 15 years.
While on scholarship from the Japanese government to study for his Masters degree in International Commerce, he started his first Internet service, a multilingual business network to promote highly skilled, but internationally unknown Japanese SMEs to the world community.
After graduating and working shortly as a university professor in Japan, he spent his evenings coding into the wee hours of the morning and co-founded GaijinPot and GPlusMedia which he grew into the largest portal in Japan for English speaking foreigners to find work, accommodation, and information about living in Japan.
He then founded The Plant eight years ago which focuses on custom software solutions to enterprise problems. He has grown The Plant into a 30-strong company with some of the best developers and digital professionals in Asia Pacific, servicing multinational clients including ASICS, Danone, Lacoste, and MTV.
He has always been passionate about knowledge, learning, and team collaboration. He has been pouring this passion into making Qortex the best way for teams to organize, collaborate, build, and use their collective knowledge to take on the challenges they face together.
VP of Engineering
Felix has 10 years of experience in building web applications. He lived three years in Japan, where worked as developer for NEC.
After joining The Plant, he has developed E-Commerce systems, custom CMS solutions for news and brand sites, for a variety of clients such as ASICS, Danone, Lacoste and others.
In the Qortex team, he is focusing on technology and architecture of the system, as well as developing new concepts that have found their way into Qortex.
Manager, Products & UX
Kilian is the man behind Qortex’ design and ease of use. He makes the developers’ lives harder in order to make yours easier.
Kilian studied the ancient art of typography in Germany and has 17 years of creative and web experience in Japan. He got into digital interactive media in 1998 and revolved around user experience, digital strategy, branding and identity ever since.
He has successfully managed international teams of various sizes and is well versed in web/IT technologies. 5 years of his career he spent working as a manager in e-commerce, re-defining Otto Japan’s online experience and launching e-commerce operations for Lacoste in Japan.
At The Plant he is in charge of product development and user experience.
